berhati-hattilah berkendara, ingat angka kecelakaan meningkat, 58 orang tewas di oku timur sepanjang  2024                            oku timur, sumateraekspres.id - berhati-hatilah saat berkendara, lengkapi kelengkapan kendaraan, pakai helm, gunakan sabuk pengaman!
sebab dari data satlantas polres oku timur, selama tahun 2024 sebanyak 58 orang telah meninggal akibat kecelakaan lalulintas di kabupaten oku timur.
selain korban meninggal, di tahun 2024 pula tercatat ada 105 orang mengalami luka berat, dan 143 orang mengalami luka ringan. serta kerugian material mencapai rp 412.600.000. 
dibandingkan tahun 2023, angka korban kecelakaan mengalami kenaikan. tahun 2023 korban meninggal akibat kecelakaan sebanyak 57 orang, luka berat 73 orang, luka ringan sebanyak 62 orang, dan kerugian material rp 276.300.000.

kemudian satlantas polres oku timur juga mencatat, selama 2024 total ada sebanyak 154 kasus kecelakaan lalulintas, dengan 135 kasus berhasil diselesaikan. 
dibanding tahun 2023, kasus kecelakaan lalulintas tahun 2024 mengalami kenaikan signifikan. tahun 2023 lalu, jumlah kasus kecelakaan lalulintas sebanyak 109 kasus dengan 103 kasus berhasil diselesaikan.
kapolres oku timur akbp kevin leleury sik msi didampingi kasat lantas akp panca mega surya sh mengatakan upaya pencegahan terjadinya kecelakaan lalulintas terus dilakukan.

selama tahun 2024 satlantas polres oku timur telah melakukan penindakan pelanggaran lalulintas lintas. 
selama 2024 telah memberikan sanksi teguran kepada 12.080 orang pelanggar lalulintas, kemudian sanksi tilang sebanyak 2.416 orang pelanggaran. selain itu satlantas polres oku timur juga memberikan komfirmasi tilang etle sebanyak ke 143 pelanggara.

sedangkan tahun 2023, sanksi teguran diberikan kepada 14.710 pelanggar lalulintas, sanksi tilang 2.851 pelanggar dan komfirmasi etle kepada 91 pelanggar lalulintas.
"kedepan, untuk menekan angka kecelakaan lalu lintas, kami akan meningkatkan lagi penertiban di jalan. karena kecelakaan lalulintas sebagian besar berawal dari pelanggaran lalulintas," kata kapolres oku timur akbp kevin leleury sik msi saat press release, selasa 31 desember 2024. 
selain itu, kapolres juga akan menindak tegas peredaran kendaraan bodong di kanupaten oku timur. "kita ingin penertiban, agar tidak ada lagi kendaraan bodong di oku timur," pungkasnya.
