menkes, budi gunadi sadikin tegaskan hmpv bukan virus baru, jangan panik                            sumateraekspres.id – menteri kesehatan republik indonesia, budi gunadi sadikin, menegaskan bahwa masyarakat tidak perlu khawatir terkait penyebaran virus human metapneumovirus (hmpv), yang belakangan ini menjadi perhatian.
dalam kunjungannya ke groundbreaking construction work for mohammad hosein oncology center building hospital, ia menjelaskan bahwa informasi yang beredar mengenai virus ini sering kali salah kaprah.
budi gunadi sadikin mengungkapkan bahwa hmpv bukanlah virus baru, melainkan virus lama yang pertama kali terdeteksi pada tahun 2001.

"hmpv sudah ada sejak lama dan tubuh kita telah mengenalnya, jadi sistem imun kita sudah terbentuk untuk melawan virus ini," jelasnya.
oleh karena itu, ia meminta masyarakat untuk tidak khawatir karena hmpv tidak mematikan dan sudah dikenal oleh sistem imun tubuh.
lebih lanjut, budi menekankan bahwa informasi yang mengaitkan hmpv dengan peningkatan kasus di china juga tidak tepat.

menurutnya, lonjakan kasus di negara empat musim lebih banyak disebabkan oleh influenza h1n1, bukan hmpv.
"virus hmpv tidak mematikan. kenaikan kasus pada akhir tahun biasanya disebabkan oleh influenza, dan data menunjukkan bahwa angka kasus hmpv tahun ini lebih rendah dibandingkan tahun lalu," ujarnya.
budi juga menegaskan bahwa tingkat fatalitas hmpv sangat rendah, dengan hampir semua pasien pulang dengan selamat.
virus ini tidak seperti covid-19, yang merupakan virus baru dan belum dikenal oleh sistem imun manusia.

sebagai langkah pencegahan, budi mengingatkan pentingnya menjaga kebersihan, pola makan sehat, serta mematuhi protokol kesehatan, terutama pada musim pancaroba atau musim dingin di negara empat musim.
