pendaki asal bengkulu meninggal di puncak gunung dempo diduga karena hipotermia                            pagar alam, sumateraekspres.id - deko avriansah (22), seorang pendaki asal kabupaten seluma, provinsi bengkulu, ditemukan meninggal dunia setelah mendaki ke puncak gunung dempo, pagar alam.
diduga, korban meninggal akibat serangan hipotermia, suatu kondisi yang disebabkan oleh suhu tubuh yang sangat rendah.
informasi yang dihimpun menyebutkan bahwa saat ini, tim gabungan dari badan penanggulangan bencana daerah (bpbd) kota pagar alam, brigade, dan sejumlah relawan sedang melakukan evakuasi terhadap korban.
proses evakuasi tersebut tengah berlangsung dengan penuh perhatian dan kehati-hatian mengingat medan yang sulit.

kepala bpbd kota pagar alam, jon hasman sip mm, melalui kepala bidang kedaruratan dan logistik bpbd, anjas se, mengonfirmasi bahwa insiden tersebut terjadi di puncak gunung dempo.
"benar, ada seorang pendaki yang meninggal dunia di puncak gunung dempo. tim gabungan dari bpbd dan relawan sedang melakukan evakuasi korban," ujarnya jumat 3 januari 2025.
menurut anjas, berdasarkan keterangan teman korban yang mendaki bersama, sementara ini, diduga penyebab kematian deko adalah hipotermia yang diakibatkan oleh suhu ekstrem di gunung ditambah kelelahan.
"korban awalnya sehat ketika memulai pendakian pada selasa, 31 desember 2024. namun, pada saat mencapai puncak, korban mulai merasa sakit dan diduga terpapar hipotermia," tambahnya.

arindi, ketua brigade, turut mengungkapkan bahwa tim gabungan sudah bekerja keras untuk mengevakuasi korban setelah menerima laporan.
informasi sementara mengungkapkan bahwa korban, yang merupakan warga kabupaten seluma, berencana menghabiskan malam tahun baru dengan mendaki gunung dempo bersama satu orang rekannya.
namun, saat berada di puncak, deko merasa tidak enak badan dan diduga mengalami hipotermia.
rekannya pun segera turun gunung untuk meminta bantuan ke pos balai registrasi gunung dempo (brigade). sayangnya, upaya evakuasi datang terlambat untuk menyelamatkan nyawa korban.
