SINGAPORES, SUMATERAEKSPRES.ID - Wow, the opportunity to pursue higher education in Singapore is now even more widely available, thanks to the Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA).
Which provides opportunities for graduates with a Bachelor's (S1) and Master's (S2) degree to apply for scholarships.
In this case, through the PhD Direct Programme, applications are open until June 1, 2024, with classes scheduled to commence in August 2024.
SINGA is a collaboration between the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) and several prestigious universities: Nanyang Technological University (NTU), the National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore Management University (SMU), and Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD).

They are targeting graduates with outstanding academic achievements and a keen interest in research.
According to official information, the Doctorate (PhD) in Science and Engineering program across various Singaporean campuses is a preferred choice for scholarship recipients. They will undergo coursework, conduct research, and complete a research thesis after successfully passing the Qualifying Exam.
Scholarship recipients have the option to choose the location for their research, especially at A*STAR and NTU, NUS, SMU, or SUTD. The PhD degree will be conferred by NTU, NUS, SMU, or SUTD without any bonded service obligation.
The scholarship covers fields of study such as Biomedical Sciences, Computing and Information Sciences, Engineering, Technology, and Physical Sciences, with an average PhD duration of 4 years.

The selection process places emphasis on research experience for Master's graduates, with the overall assessment involving project proposals and interviews conducted in English.
SINGA scholarships do not require test results such as TOEFL, IELTS, SAT I and II, GATE, and GRE, although some campuses may have additional requirements.
The components of the Singapore scholarship include no application fees, full tuition coverage, a monthly stipend of SGD 2,200 , which can increase to SGD 2,700 per month after passing the Qualifying Exam.
A one-time arrival allowance of SGD 1,000 is provided, along with a one-time travel grant of SGD 1,500
Application requirements include a passport, passport-sized photo in JPEG/PNG format, translated transcripts of Bachelor's and Master's degrees into English, Bachelor's degree or Letter of Certification of Graduation (if the degree is not yet issued), and two online-filled recommendation letters.
Although not mandatory, GRE, IELTS, TOEFL, SAT I & II, or GATE results can be included.
