dari banyuasin ke jambi hanya 2,5 jam: tol betung-jambi solusi kemacetan, keren banget nih!                            sumateraekspe3s.id - jalan lintas timur sumatera palembang - jambi dikenal dengan kemacetan.
pada aktivitas normal saja butuh waktu hingga 7-8 jam untuk dapat sampai dari palembang ke jambi. 
keberadaan tol membuat mobilisasi lebih cepat, jalan bebas hambatan sehingga membuat waktu perjalanan akan jauh lebih pendek dibandingkan jalur normal/umum.
dijalur lintas sumatera khususnya jalur palembang - jambi yang terkenal macet khususnya di titik betung, sungai lilin, misalnya akan clear jika tol betung - jambi rampung. 
keberadaan tol betung - jambi akan membuat jarak tempuh lebih singkat sehingga dari banyuasin ke jambi hanya butuh 2,5 jam dari normal nya 5-6 jam.

pembangunan jalan tol betung-tempino-jambi merupakan bagian dari jalan tol trans sumatera (jtts) dengan panjang keseluruhan yakni 169,9 km. 
tol ini dibangun secara bertahap dan dibagi menjadi 4 seksi meliputi seksi betung-tungkal jaya (62 km) , tungkal jaya-bayung lencir (56 km) , bayung lencir-tempino (33 km) , dan tempino-sp. ness (19 km).
progres  pembanguan ruas betung-tungkal jaya 1a ini membentang sepanjang 30,8 kilometer (km), melewati kabupaten banyuasin dan musi banyuasin. 
adapun ruas betung-tungkal jaya 1a menjadi bagian dari ruas tol betung-tungkal jaya dengan panjang 62 km
atina choirul nikmah, site operation manager pt hutama karya infrastruktur, menyebutkan, targetnya, konstruksi tol betung-tempino-jambi seksi 1a selesai pada kuartal pertama 2026.

jalan tol seksi ia betung tungkal jaya rencananya akan dilengkapi dengan 2 underpass, 9 overpass, 2 box traffic, 52 box culvert, serta 1 interchange. 
selain itu, terdapat juga fasilitas pelayanan berupa 1 pasang tempat istirahat dan pelayanan (tip) tipe a dan 1 gerbang tol (ic betung).
sedangkan untuk jalan tol seksi 4 ic tempino-ic ness akan dilengkapi dengan 6 underpass, 5 overpass, 3 box traffic, 36 box culvert, dan 1 interchange. fasilitas pelayanan mencakup pasang tip tipe a dan i gerbang tol (ic ness). 
sebagai informasi, bagian dari jalan tol ini, yaitu  jalan tol betung - tempino - jambi (betajam) seksi 3 (bayung lencir - tempino) sudah mulai di operasikan sejak 17 oktober 2024 . 
mengutip executive vice president (evp) sekretaris perusahaan hutama karya adjib al hakim melalui keterangan pers nya mengatakan bahwa jalan tol betajam seksi 3 didesain dengan infrastruktur yang memadai guna meningkatkan kenyamanan dan keamanan pengguna.

saat ini, terdapat dua gerbang tol yang telah beroperasi, yaitu gerbang tol (gt) muaro sebapo dan gt bayung lencir dan turut dilengkapi berbagai fasilitas penunjang, termasuk 10 overpass, 4 (empat) underpass, serta masing-masing 2 (dua) interchange, guna menjamin kelancaran arus lalu lintas dan memudahkan akses ke berbagai titik di sepanjang ruas tol.
untuk seksi 3 (bayung lencir - tempino) yang sudah mulai di operasikan ini dari sisi efisiensi waktu memangkas lebih dari setengah waktu yang biasa dibutuhkan. 
dimana sebelum jalan tol ini beroperasi, perjalanan dari bayung lencir ke tempino membutuhkan waktu sekitar 1,5 jam. kini, perjalanan tersebut hanya memakan waktu 15 menit.
nah, apabila jalan tol jambi - betung rampung, maka diperkirakan jarak dari betung ke jambi waktu yang normal nya membutuhkan waktu 5-6 jam, maka hanya dibutuhkan waktu sekitar 2 - 2, 5 jam menggunakan kecepatan kendaraan sekitar 70 sampai 80 kilometer per jam jika tol telah di operasikan.
