sejarah tercipta! arab saudi gelar peragaan busana baju renang pertama                            sumateraekspres.id - pekan lalu, arab saudi mencatat sejarah dengan menjadi tuan rumah peragaan busana atau fashion show baju renang pertama dalam sejarah.
ini merupakan langkah arab saudi dalam meningkatkan devisa negara melalui industri pariwisata. 
dilansir tempo, hal ini menjadi peristiwa yang  menandai perubahan budaya di negara yang sebelumnya mengharuskan perempuan mengenakan jubah abaya untuk menutupi tubuh. 
acara ini berlangsung di tepi kolam. sebagian besar model memamerkan pakaian renang yang memperlihatkan bahu mereka, beberapa juga memperlihatkan sebagian bagian perut.

ada pula model yang menampilkan pakaian renang dengan garis leher yang menjuntai dan siluet yang memeluk tubuh.
model-model ini tak mungkin dipamerkan di depan umum beberapa tahun yang lalu.
desainer maroko, yasmina qanzal pada peragaan busana tersebut menyebut bahwa koleksi pakaian renang yang ditampilkan elegan dan mewakili dunia arab.
mulai dari pakaian one-piece dengan potongan v dalam hingga atasan bandeau dan berbagai sarung, koleksi ini menunjukkan perkembangan pesat industri fashion di arab saudi.

"pekan mode ini merupakan bagian dari red sea global, yang merupakan inti dari program reformasi sosial dan ekonomi visi 2030 arab saudi yang diawasi oleh putra mahkota mohammed bin salman," ungkap yasmina. 
peragaan busana ini juga menandai industri fashion di arab saudi terus berkembang, dan pada tahun 2022, industri ini menyumbang us$ 12,5 miliar atau 1,4 persen dari produk domestik bruto nasional. 
dengan tujuan menjadikan arab saudi sebagai pusat mode dan budaya global, reformasi ini adalah bagian dari proyek jangka panjang untuk mengurangi ketergantungan kerajaan terhadap minyak dan mempromosikan sektor-sektor seperti teknologi, pariwisata, olahraga, hiburan, dan mode.
